Back ground
SRCS is an independent, non-political humanitarian organisation. It was established in April 1963 and became a legal entity following Presidential Decree No. 187 in 1965. SRCS has operated continuously throughout the country’s period of civil war and political divide and is credited for its unity as one National Society. It operates through a network of nineteen branches with activities spread all across the country.
Overall Job Purpose
The Physiotherapist is an employee of the SRCS Rehabilitation Centre, Mogadishu. The position is in the Physiotherapy department of the SRCS Rehabilitation Centre which is part of the SRCS Rehabilitation Program for Disabled in Somalia, which again is a part of Somali Red Crescent Society..
Physiotherapist has the knowledge, skills and judgment to provide services related musculoskeletal, orthopedic, neurological function, pediatric, Respiratory function, cardiovascular function, sexual function and prescription of assistive devices to optimize function across the whole life span within a wide range of settings and contexts.
Essential Duties and Responsibility
1. Have main duty to undertake a comprehensive full assessment based on patient’s service need
2. Determine when patients need to be referred to another professional
3. Implement intervention technique/ modulatity and home program exercise based on patient
4. evaluate and re-evaluate the outcomes of any interventions
5. Provide Empowering and awareness raising program on disability issues
6. Work with workshop as interdisciplinary team
7. Care, proper handling of the material used for physiotherapy treatment
8. Prescription of devices/equipment (assistive, adaptive, orthotic and prosthetic
9. Collect data and monthly report activity
10. Plan prepare a written successful case presentation and follow up
11. Give a hand to his/her superior any time a technical report needs to written
12. Follow the patients’ appointment calendar as prepared in collaboration with his/her superior
Reporting
a) Collect and maintain day to day data statistics and report to head of physiotherapy department.
b) By every 1st every month prepare a report with activities of the last month and all available statistics, this report will go to the head of physiotherapy department.
c) Report to the head of physiotherapy any problem about equipment machines, if there is need to repair or replace.

Educational Qualifications & Professional Training:
1. Licensing: Proof of certification from physiotherapy school Diploma or Bachelor
2. High commitment and ability to work under pressure
