NRC has been active in Somalia since 2004 with four area offices in Kismayu, Mogadishu, Garowe and Hargeisa, providing protection and humanitarian assistance to refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees in Somaliland, Puntland, South Central and Jubbaland regions. NRC offers a comprehensive response for returnees and IDPs of high need, addressing their food security, livelihood, shelter, education, ICLA, and water, hygiene and sanitation needs and also responding to emergencies through NRC’s five core competences: Shelter, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA).
In response to the ongoing emergency response, NRC is setting up a roster for programme roles that area office could use. We are seeking highly qualified, resilient, dynamic professionals to respond to the emergency and support affected communities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in conducting field assessments to identify the food security and livelihood needs of target communities.
Help in identifying and selecting eligible beneficiaries for LFS interventions based on established criteria.
Participate in community mobilization efforts to raise awareness of LFS programs and encourage community participation.
Assist in providing training and support to beneficiaries on improved agricultural practices, business skills, and other livelihood activities.
Support the day-to-day implementation of LFS activities, ensuring adherence to NRC’s guidelines and standards.
Assist in monitoring and evaluating LFS project activities, collecting data on progress and outcomes, and contributing to regular reports.
Coordinate with logistics to ensure the timely distribution of inputs and materials to project sites.
Work closely with local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to facilitate the smooth implementation of LFS activities.
Support the implementation of cash-based interventions and market-based programming under the guidance of the LFS Officer.
Participate in emergency response activities related to food security and livelihoods, including needs assessments, distributions, and post-distribution monitoring (PDM).
Maintain accurate records of project activities, including beneficiary lists, distribution records, and training attendance.
