About WARDI

WARDI Relief & Development Initiatives (WARDI) is a national non-profit making and non-governmental organization founded on 20 June 1993 and subsequently registered under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the transitional federal government of Somalia through Article 22, Para 1, 2, 3; Article 26 and Article 67 Para3 of the transitional federal charter of Somalia in 2004, as well as the Article 7, Article 26 and Article 32 of the first constitution of Somalia in 1960.WARDI is also registered in Kenya with the NGO Coordination Board of Kenya through the NGO Coordination Act of 1992. The organization targets the most vulnerable members of society mainly women and children.

In its interventions, WARDI focuses on the important sectors of WASH, Health, Nutrition, Livelihood, Education, and Skill Development, as well as other human rights issues such as Protection, HIV/AIDs, and Gender with a special focus on women and youth empowerment through civic education, skill development, intensive employment and income generation activities (IGA).In an attempt to meet the felt needs of its target beneficiaries, WARDI works directly with beneficiary communities at large to identify their needs and play a central role in finding contextually relevant and sustainable solutions.

2.   About the project

Under the SOMREP EU riverine project, WARDI, in collaboration with Care International, is implementing a Food Security Project titled “Riverine & Pastoral Food System Strengthening (RFSS)”.

3.    Description of the goods/services/trade or construction work Type of service tendered: Provision of services

a.   Description of the service

As part of the Deyr season 2024 activity implementation, the RFSS project will support 640 farmers in the Afgoi district, Lower Shabelle region, Somalia, by providing tractor hours for land preparation. These farmers are located across six villages: Balbaley, Baalgure, Awgoye, Jambalul, Dhajalaq, and Riis. Each household will receive two hours of tractor service to facilitate effective land preparation for the upcoming planting season.

WARDI invites qualified service providers to submit bids for a total of 1,280 hours of land cultivation. The Bill of Quantities (BOQs) is provided in section 3b. Technical specifications for tractors include functional and mechanically sound equipment, among other requirements outlined for bidders

Functional and mechanically sound

·         Should have immediate replacement of broken parts

·         Fuel and oil must be available during working hours (included)

·         Brakes and light front and rear must be working properly

·         Must have a good cooling system

·         Must have two drivers who can work on shifts.

·         Must have three ploughing discs

·         Tires must not be flat nor worn out.
