FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF SOMALIA
MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, CULTURE AND HIGHER EDUCATION
ADVERT TENDER NOTICE FOR
REHABILITATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF WASH FACILITIES IN SCHOOLS IN GALMUDUG STATE OF SOMALIA UNDER THE GPE GIRLS’ EDUCATION ACCELERATOR PROGRAM.
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education is implementing the Girls’ Education Accelerator (GEA).
The Girls’ Education Accelerator (GEA) is a three-year project in partnership between the Federal MOECHE and Global Partnership for Education (GPE), which intends to enhance equitable access to quality and inclusive education in rural and urban areas by addressing supply and demand barriers, particularly those related to gender and social inclusion. It will contribute to reducing the gender gap in primary education by improving girls’ education outcomes, with a specific focus on those facing multiple barriers to succeed: displacement, conflict, disability, and social vulnerability. To do so, the GEA will construct 20 new public schools for girls in areas with the highest concentration of out-of-school girls and limited or no provision of education services.
The Girls’ Education Accelerator (GEA) was designed to contribute to the achievement of the priority reform defined in the 2023 Partnership Compact, which is aligned with the priorities of the 2022-2027 Education Sector Strategic Plan. The Partnership Compact seeks to create conditions to enhance equitable access to quality and inclusive education in rural and urban areas by addressing supply and demand barriers.
In line with Outcome 1 of the GEA program, the project seeks to construct 20 new schools in underserved areas with a high concentration of out-of-school girls and limited or no existing education services across the Federal Member States. These schools will contribute to enrolling and retaining an additional 15,600 vulnerable girls in the education system. To achieve this, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education is inviting interested and qualified bidders to submit their bid documents to participate in the tendering process for the construction of three (3) Girls schools in Southwest State of Somalia.
Therefore, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education (MoECHE) invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified contractors for the provision of construction services for the Girls’ Schools in Southwest State Somalia.
The scope of work is detailed in the Bill of Quantities and designs annexed to this solicitation document.
The tender is open to eligible suppliers who are registered and operational in both the Federal Government of Somalia and Galmudug State.
