About ADO
The Agricultural Development Organization - ADO - was established in 1993 and had worked throughout the Somaliland regions, implementing emergency, recovery, and long-term rural development projects, including agriculture, environment, and climate change adaptation, resilient livelihood building for the poor agro-pastoralists, watershed, and irrigation management, nutrition, community innovations, and entrepreneurship support. Besides, the ADO had empowered rural women through the needs-based small business projects and Self-Help-Group initiatives. Working directly with community associations, the ADO had supported more than 776,000 households, including IDPs, returnees, farmers, and women living throughout the Somaliland regions.
The ADO has its Head Office in Hargeisa with the regional branch offices in Burao, Borama, and Erigavo of Togdheer, Awdal, and Sanaag regions. Besides, the ADO is currently expanding its programs and presence in the Somali Ethiopia Region, South-central, and Southern Somalia. ADO is an active member of the main local umbrella groups, namely, NAGAAD, SOLPAF, and SONSEF. As well as the ADO has strong networks with academic institutions in Europe and Africa and collaborates with diverse institutions in the development and agriculture research sectors. The partners of the ADO include but are not limited to the European Union, UNHCR, UNDP, WFP, UNEP, Oxfam, Care International, ISF Finland, NDF Norway, NORAD, UK AID, WHH Germany, Somaliland Development Fund (SDF), KNH Germany, and LUKE of Natural Resource Institute of Finland.
However, in partnership with the **Development Fund of Norway (DF),**However, the ADO will implement the Darwin Initiative project, which is a long-term project (2022_2027) funded by the Darwin Initiative Institute through the Development Fund of Norway (DF), where the Agricultural Development Organization (ADO) has the ground implementation. The main goal is to improve seed, food and livelihood security of Agri-pastoralist households in Somaliland. The Project will build resilience in three communities through improved access to quality seeds, improved soil and water management, increased awareness of farmers' rights, and increased capacity for the sustainable use and management of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture among community members and government officials/institutions, and promotion of policies.
The Darwin project aims to provide access to smallholder farmers who have improved access to water for agricultural use in Beer and Midhisho villages. The project also aims to assist farmers and other communities in obtaining water for agricultural use and human consumption by improving and constructing water infrastructure. As a result, the ADO has extended an invitation to local bidders in Somaliland to construct a new Barked in Beer village in the Burao district, Togdheer region.
Main Objectives:-
Maximize rainwater harvesting to ensure sustainable water usage for agriculture, livestock, and drinking in the target community.
Specific Construction new Barked: -
Improving access water for agriculture use and drinking
Capture and store as much rainwater as possible to reduce the impact of droughts.
Provide reliable access to water for small-scale irrigation, increasing agricultural production.
Enable year-round livestock watering to sustain pastoral Beer community

Relevant experience in similar works provision including supporting documents, similar works ( LPO/Contracts, certificates and recommendations letters etc)
All bids should be written in English

Working hours between 8:00am to 3:00pm (Sunday to Thursday).
Tender closing date is January 11th, 2025 at 2:00 pm East Africa Time.
All completed tender should be summited in sealed envelope to be bring Hargeisa office, the envelope should indicate the tittle of tender notice, but have no other details related to the bid.
