ActionAid International Somaliland (AAIS) is seeking a committed and experienced Fundraising and Partnership Coordinator who combines a strong commitment to humanitarian values with professional expertise in resource mobilization and partnership development, and has proven experience in strengthening donor relations, securing funding opportunities, and supporting effective program implementation.
The Role: The Fundraising and Partnership Coordinator will support the development and implementation of AAIS’s fundraising and partnership strategy by identifying funding opportunities, reviewing donor scoping reports, and prioritizing key donors in alignment with the Country Strategy Paper and ActionAid International’s global strategy. The role will work closely with the Country Director, Country Management Team (CMT), and program teams to build and strengthen relationships with donors through meetings, events, and organized donor visits, while also promoting consortium partnerships with other INGOs. The coordinator will coordinate the development and timely submission of high-quality proposals and concept notes, maintain donor and project tracking databases, and ensure effective grant and contract management, including monitoring project implementation and ensuring timely, quality donor reporting. In addition, the role will support communications to promote the country program’s work, provide regular updates on fundraising progress, assess funding trends and internal capacity, and strengthen staff and partner capacity in fundraising, proposal development, and grant management.
Education, experience & technical competencies.
1. Bachelor’s degree in international relations, Development, Communications, Marketing, or related field. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in fundraising, donor relations, or development, ideally in an INGO or non-profit environment.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
4. Proficiency in additional languages (especially Somali or Arabic).
5. Experience with donor databases and data management.
6. Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with teams from different backgrounds.
7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
8. Experience with institutional donors (e.g., USAID, EU, FCDO, AICS, SIDA, GIZ, UN agencies, etc.).
9. Knowledge of fundraising compliance and donor requirements.
10. Grant writing or proposal development experience
11. Excellent management & leadership skills.
12. Excellent skills in facilitation and capacity building
13. Excellent conceptual, analytical, documentation and presentation skills.
14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
15. Excellent planning and prioritization skills.

18. A strong understanding of donor landscape and fundraising trends in Somalia, East Africa/the Horn of Africa.
19. Ability and experience of working with different cultures and nationalities.
20. High integrity and accountability in dealing with and managing sensitive information related to the role
Demonstrable versatility in use of IT and Office suite (MS Word, Excel, Access, Power-point, Teams and video conferencing)
