CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR PREQUALITFICATION OF LOCAL PARTNERS ORGINIZATION
SOS Children’s Villages (CV) Somalia is part of SOS Children’s Villages International, a non-profit, non-sectarian, and non-partisan NGO that has been operating in Somalia since 1985. Currently, SOS CV Somalia manages one village, as well as a kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school in Mogadishu. Additionally, the organization oversees Livelihoods (Family Strengthening), youth economic and employment development, CpiE and an Emergency Health and Nutrition program in the Banadir, Hirshabelle, and South State regions of Somalia.
Over the past years, in collaboration with its board, SOS Somalia has expanded its geographical reach and core activities to enhance its contributions toward achieving targeted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The organization aims to ensure that every child in Somalia grows up in a nurturing family environment, allowing them to reach their full potential as self-supporting and contributing members of society. To accomplish these objectives, SOS CV Somalia employs a programmatic approach focusing on Family Strengthening, Alternative Care, Health, Education, Climate adaptation and Resilience building, Youth Development, and Economic Development. The organization also builds the capacity of caregivers, families, and communities to provide adequate care while advocating for the rights of children without parental care and those at risk of losing it. SOS CV Somalia is the largest alternative care provider in the country and collaborates with various like-minded humanitarian and development partners.
SOS CV Somalia operates under a five-year strategic plan and is currently implementing the 2022-2026 plan. This strategy outlines how the organization will enhance its services to ensure that Somali children grow up in loving family environments with their rights protected. The plan emphasizes SOS CV Somalia's commitment to child rights and the protection of children, as well as the potential of Somali youth.
In line with its new strategy and in response to recurring natural disasters, SOS Children’s Villages Somalia seeks to improve and expand its humanitarian and development interventions in hard-to-reach areas. To strengthen its impact and sustainability, the organization is looking to prequalify local partner organizations for potential collaboration in delivering community-based programs, projects, and services aligned with its mission.
