Vacancy Announcement:

TVET Instructor in Architecture and Interior Design at Hargeisa Technical Institute.

1.    Job Profile Summary:

The Ministry of Education and Science seeks a qualified, experienced TVET Instructor in Architecture and Interior Design to support the delivery of competency-based technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in accordance with Somaliland National TVET Standards and relevant institutional policies.

The instructor will deliver comprehensive instructional, practical, and technical training in Interior Design, with a specialized focus on Architectural Engineering. The positions encompass classroom-based instruction, hands-on and field-based training, learner assessment, and academic and professional mentorship.

2.    Reporting Line:

Reports to: Master Trainer in Architecture and Interior Design, Hargeisa Technical Institute

3.    Duties and Responsibilities:

The architecture and interior design TVET Instructor will be responsible for the following:

• Develop and prepare all necessary lesson plans, instructional materials, and resources for both theoretical and practical training sessions.
• Deliver competency-based training by applying learner-centered and action-oriented teaching approaches to deliver training assignments effectively and in accordance with the curriculum.
• Facilitate interactive learning by organizing and managing classrooms, workshops, and other learning resources to promote active, practical, and interactive teaching and learning.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to students during industrial apprenticeships and workplace-based learning to support the development of practical competencies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, performance, assessment results, and other relevant training documentation.
• Plan and administer post-training assessments while conducting regular formative assessments throughout the training period to monitor and evaluate students’ learning progress and competency development.
• Participate in curriculum review, development, and other related activities to ensure training content remains relevant to industry needs and occupational standards.

Experiences and Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from a recognized and reputable university.
• A minimum of two years of relevant practical industrial experience in the construction sector, particularly in Architecture and Interior Design.
• Demonstrated passion for teaching, learning, and supporting students’ professional development.
• Fluency in written and spoken English language.
• Strong self-discipline, professionalism, and ability to work independently.
• Strong commitment, communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively with instructors, students, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
