Background:

The Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS) is a non-political humanitarian organization dedicated to providing lifesaving services across Somalia. Despite operating in a challenging environment characterized by conflict and insecurity, SRCS remains committed to its mission. The organization runs various programs, including healthcare, disaster management, youth development, and volunteer training.

Project Summary: The SRCS Training Institute aims to empower youth, volunteers, and institutional staff in Somalia with essential skills for employment, community development, and disaster response. The Institute will offer training in areas such as first aid, disaster management, computer literacy, and multimedia skills.

Key Areas of responsibilities:

  • Under the management of the training Institute Manager, plan and organize the implementation of the of the training institute activities in line with the budget available.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly reports, action plans, assessments, and monitoring project activities.
  • Conduct coaching sessions together with the team for youth and volunteers who are benefiting from the projects to define their skill needs.
  • Help the employment prospects, opportunities and support with the youth as individuals, and sometimes as groups to design their future career decisions.
  • Keeps up to date the project database and collect information from the youth trainings taking place in the training center.
  • Support in the design, plan and implement project activities that are related to volunteer and youth empowerment in line with SRCS program quality principles and standards, partner requirements, and good practices.
  • Develop and carry out a capacity building courses aimed at strengthening the coping capacities of the target youth group and volunteers.
  • Prepare and compile activity reports on weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and yearly and share with Training Institute Manager.
  • Prepare and contribute to the documentation of good practices– case studies, success stories, successful project approaches and lessons learnt under the Training Institute manager.
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing campaigns, PR and marketing activities of the training programs of the Somali RC training Institute.
  • Contribute the planning, creation and implementation of training and workshop courses of the training Institute.
