Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) Education and Awareness Sessions for Adolescent Girls and Teaching Staff:
Background:
The project aims to improve the well-being, participation, confidence, and agency of adolescent girls by addressing barriers related to Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH). Limited access to accurate menstrual health information, appropriate menstrual hygiene knowledge, and supportive school environments can negatively affect girls’ attendance, participation, confidence, and overall learning experience.
As part of the project, MHH education and awareness activities will be implemented in selected project-supported schools to strengthen adolescent girls’ knowledge, confidence, and ability to manage menstruation safely and with dignity. The intervention will also strengthen the capacity of teaching staff to provide accurate, supportive, and age-appropriate information and to create a safe and non-judgmental environment for adolescent girls.
