Overall, Job Purpose
· To ensure the confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of data entered into the Family Links Answers (FLA) database. The role also includes resolving data processing issues and supporting the maintenance of a reliable and up-to-date database, as well as performing other related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Data Analyst Operations
· Collect, prepare, compile, and structure data for entry, analysis, and reporting within the Family Links Answers (FLA) database and related systems.
· Check source documents and verify data accuracy, completeness, and consistency before and after entry.
· Identify and resolve data issues, including ambiguity, discrepancies, duplication, and gaps, to ensure data integrity.
· Track and reconcile missing data to update the FLA database and maintain accurate case file records.
· Combine, clean, and restructure data from multiple sources for analytical use.
· Enter and manage data in prescribed systems, forms, and the FLA database while ensuring quality control standards.
· Collect, compile, and enter monthly follow-up reports from branches on active search and re-contact activities, including caseload tracking against set targets, and generate summary reports for analysis and reporting purposes.
· Maintain well-organized datasets to support efficient data retrieval and analysis.
· Compile, analyze, and interpret data trends, caseload patterns, and operational indicators to support decision-making.
· Develop and present statistical summaries, charts, and basic visualizations for reporting purposes.
· Provide regular analytical feedback and insights to support RFL reporting, monitoring, and strategic communication within the Movement.
Operational Support
· Liaise with the relevant staff at the ICRC and Branch level to update and maintain accurate database.
· Maintain proper inventory records of computer software and equipment in compliance with policies.
· Provide assistance to ICT staff to resolve computer and software problems.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Education
Bachelor degree of Information Technology (IT) or Computer Science
Professional Training
Database Management, Data Analysis, or related ICT training
Certification/Licensing
Desirable: data analysis or database certifications
Language Requirement
Demonstrate proficiency in Somali and English languages
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data entry, data management, or data analysis within a humanitarian or development organization
