CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Nutrition Data Base officer will be responsible overall management of nutrition data in Hirshabelle state, including data collection from all different field, reviewing, analysing, custodian, and cleansing then submitting to the Area Nutrition data base coordinator as well as Deputy Nutrition Manager and area PM on need basis. He/she is also responsible for the setting up and support of the early warning and response system at the supported facilities of the two states. Building on what already exists in terms of nutrition data collection for priority of early warning systems and triggering prevalence and incidence of acute malnutrition. diseases, and ensuring the system is in place to quickly identify potential outbreaks, by being able to identify trends of disease patterns simply and timely. The role will also include participation in technical assessments, collection of nutrition data, and reporting of the projects under the nutrition components running the two states and by extension southern states. He/she will the overall custodian of nutrition data that can easily be retrieved when it comes to the review of the projects, annul total reaches, proposal developments and any other need that the DPM may request.

Role Dimensions:
Save the Children operates across all zones in Somalia and currently has three main area offices and additional 11 field offices. Programmatically Somalia is a large Country Office with more than $110million annual budget and staff over 700 staff.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Coordination:
ü Provide technical expertise for the nutrition data management with the collaboration of nutrition in Hirshabelle.
ü Design with the help of MEAL any format for data collection according to type of data required.
ü With the support of the DPP, Nutrition/IYCF officers in Hiran level will collect all the information from nutrition facilities, review, analyse, and upload to online CMAM reporting tool, DHIS2, IMPACT, ONA platform and Excel data base system.
ü Through the support of the Nutrition/IYCF officers enter all screening reports, stock movement reports and average length of stay as well as and weight gain into CMAM database/ONA platform and excel data sheet.
ü Closely collaborate with MEAL officer in the field and share all the information required (IPTT, dashboards) and bi-weekly statistics.
ü Collaborate with the health and MEAL team in report writings.
ü Do monitor and follow up all nutrition facility data with the facility in charges with the coordination of other officers in the field. Ensure timely submission of facility data, compile and share with MEAL, DPM, PM and project officers.
Data Management:
ü Determine the primary data and information elements that are required internally and externally to support the project.
ü Make data accessible to the team, particularly in the form of analytical nutrition reports, presentation of results and highlighted indicators and trends of malnutrition.
ü Always synchronize and download any time you enter the website.
ü Prepare, maintain, and manage electronic records of all nutrition data from facilities.
ü Design, develop and manage databases, spreadsheets, and other data tools.
ü Understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value data for accuracy, consistency, and comparability.
ü Consolidate operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis and design and implement sustainable information management and dissemination systems for data collections.
ü Develop and implement proper backup, restore, data validation, and security procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
Data Analysis:
ü Act as a focal point/central instrument for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information relevant to the project activities.
ü Organize, design, and carry out the evaluation and analysis of datasets related to the project.
ü Participate in the development, implementation, and management of new indicators.
ü Understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value data for accuracy, consistency, and comparability.
Visualization/Reporting:
ü Produce and update information products such as maps, charts, and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline as well as support strategic and operational decision-making.
ü Support the Deputy Program Manager in producing reporting accurate program data during reporting and nutrition situation updates.
