Background:
SRCS is an independent, non-political humanitarian organisation. It was established in April 1963 and became a legal entity following Presidential Decree No. 187 in 1965. SRCS has operated continuously throughout the country’s period of civil war and political divide and is credited for its unity as one National Society. It operates through a network of nineteen branches with activities spread all across the country.
Overall Job Purpose
The Physiotherapy Helper is an employee of the SRCS Rehabilitation Centre, Mogadishu. The position is in the Physiotherapy department of the SRCS Rehabilitation Center, which is part of the SRCS Rehabilitation Program for Disabled in Somalia, which again is a part of the Somali Red Crescent Society.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1) Organise the sequences of the service users daily for the use of Gym materials.
2) Observe and follow up service users when using Gym area materials for corrections, and instruct them how to use.
3) Help service users’ wheel chair transportation from the car to the department and vice versa
4) Help physiotherapy staff the simple instructed exercise example using sand bags
5) Prepare and write and the follow up plan of the Abduction braces for the club foot children
6) Assist the parents instruct and show how to put on the abduction braces for the club foot children, and check if there are any problems.
7) Put the service users on standing bed after prescription the physiotherapy staff
8) Perform any other duties assigned by his/her superior
