Mercy-USA Somalia Program has been implementing Health, Nutrition, Education and wash among other projects funded by it is HQ and Donors since 1994 in Somalia
Mercy-USA Somalia program hereby invites qualified and interested applicants to submit applications for the position of Logistics Assistant to be based in Beledweyne District, Hirshabelle state-Somalia

NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Logistics Assistant will provide crucial support to the operations of Beledweyne Field office by efficiently managing administrative tasks and logistics operations. This role involves coordinating office administration activities, managing inventory, Warehousing, transport, lease and supporting procurement processes. The Assistant will also assist in support functions including HR, administration, procurement, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Logistics Assistant will play a key role in supporting the smooth functioning of Mercy-USA Somalia's programs and initiatives at Beledweyne Field office

Job description
• Provide general administrative support, including filing, photocopying, and organizing documents.
Assist in preparing correspondence and reports.
• Review, format and edit all reviewed Reports and Contractual agreements for the Field office before printing and submitting for signing.

• Maintain a database of all service provider contractual agreements and keeps a file of all copies Agreements for the Beledweyne Field Office.
• Receive and dispatch Non-Food and supplies Items as needed from the warehouse to the facilities stores.
• Responsible for vendor follow up on required documentation when receiving goods and follow up with projects on required documentation when a service has been delivered by the project(s)
• Follow up and reconciliation of all waybills used for the distribution of project materials and make sure that copies are filed properly for to enhance easy retrieval of required documentation.
• Maintain a systematic and easy to use filing system of property records in full compliance with the Mercy-USA Somalia Property Management Manual and makes information available during audits.
• Support in maintenance and updating of assets and inventories records at the field offices, working closely with the procurement and Logs team at the country office.

Experiences and Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATION AND REQUIRIMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL DESIRED
Academic

• Degree in Business Administration and/or Logistics related field preferred
• Professional qualification will be an added advantage

Degree in the specified field will be an added advantage

Gender & Position category

• Both Genders and female candidates are encouraged to apply
• Position category is a local position at state level

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in a similar role.
• Computer skills in MS Office.
• Experience working as Logistics in a humanitarian/recovery context
• Experience working in Somalia
• Fluency in English and Somali, both written and verbal.
• Added advantage Experience of implementing OCHA funded projects

• Previous INGO experience from working in complex and volatile contexts is added advantage

Working Conditions
