Candlelight for Environment, Education & Health was founded in 1995 as a non-governmental organization dedicated to development issues in under-served and/or marginalized communities.
Candlelight quickly grew from a small institution with limited coverage to one of the biggest organizations in Somaliland. Over those years, Candlelight succeeded in developing its systems, policies, procedures and infrastructure and has also established partnerships with several funding agencies, public institutions and various grassroots communities.
Candlelight came into being during Somaliland’s post-conflict period, when public infrastructures were destructed or rendered inoperable. Against such a backdrop, Candlelight studied the diverse community needs and then strategically prioritized environment & livelihood, education & skills, health & gender, nutrition and humanitarian emergency support as its thematic areas of intervention. Currently, Candlelight has a presence in Somaliland, Puntland, Ethiopia and a liaison office in Nairobi, Kenya. We implemented projects aimed improving the quality of life of the communities with specific focus on youth, women, children, internally displaced persons (IDPs), pastoralists and minorities.
Candlelight has a Board of Directors consisting of seven members who are responsible for the overall responsibility of the organization through provision of oversee, leadership and guidance. A management team comprised of heads of departments headed by an Executive Director oversees the execution of the day-to-day operations in accordance with advice and policies laid down by the Board.
The interested companies are advised to collect the tender documents/ dossier which contain Instructions to Suppliers, Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Terms and Conditions including Annexes can be collected from Candlelight Headquarter office in Hargeisa from 18th to 30th August 2026 between 7:30 am – 2:30 pm EAT. Sealed bid documents MUST be returned to Candlelight HQ Office in a sealed envelope clearly stating the company name and its contact address not later than 31st August 2026.
Note: -
The above-mentioned items will be distributed to 80 Households in three Villages; each Household will get 12.5m length, 8m width, 1 mm thickness of HDPE geo membrane.
