Reporting to the Innovation Advisor, WFP Somalia office, you will be supporting the WFP Somalia Country Office to tap into partnership related to innovation, private sector, and diaspora, launch and support innovation programmes and support with innovation communications and capacity strengthening activities. The responsibilities will include:
1. Design, support, and launch an internal innovation programme for WFP Somalia
Capture learnings from WFP TZCO, WFP Jordan, and relevant CARE Cos on experience in running internal innovation programmes and engage with WFP Accelerator to pick lessons from the WFP Innovation Challenge. Coordinate mapping of key lessons from above WFP experiences and suggest key lessons for the hub to adopt.
Package the tools and resources for the internal innovation programme for use by other COs across the region as well as for the WFP innovation toolkit.
Launch WFP Somalia innovation challenge, and support external challenge
2. Manage communication and partnerships development for CO innovation
Manage the CO communication strategy for innovation work. Prepare and update accordingly innovation fact sheets and communications to ensure information sharing with donors, partners, and other key stakeholders.
Generate, edit, and publish content on regional social media to create visibility for regional and CO innovation work. Oversee regional social media accounts design, traffic metrics, respond to followers, and stay up to date with relevant trends that can be deployed under WFP Communications guidance.
Be a contact point with regional communications team for approvals, advisory, and support required from innovation team.
3. Support other Innovation activities
Support other innovation programs and activities such as innovation challenges, learning & knowledge management, innovative financing, comms etc as per the requirement and guidance of your supervisor.
Perform other duties as required.
Education: Secondary certificate or At least two years of relevant first university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Entrepreneurship, International Development, Environmental Science, Development Economics, or other relevant field.
Experience: At least six years (6) of relevant experience in humanitarian or development work. Prior experience in innovation recommended, along with good relationship management, project management, communication, prospecting, and creative skills.
Language: Fluency in English and Somali, both oral and written communication
