CONTRACT LENGTH:

12 months

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: (select only one)

Level 1:  the post holder will not have contact with children and/or young people, or access to personal data about children or young people, as part of their work; therefore, a police check will not be mandatory for this post unless the content of the post changes, in which case the Child Safeguarding level should be reviewed.

Level 2: either the post holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or the post holder will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore, a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or equivalent in other countries).

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Administration and Human Resource Assistant is accountable for providing quality and efficient administrative/HR support to the Kismayo/Dhobley team and provide support to the HR/Admin officer in accordance with Save the Children’s corporate policies.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: HR/Admin Officer

Role Dimensions Save the Children operates across all zones in Somalia and currently has three main area offices and additional 11 field offices. Programmatically Somalia is a large Country Office with more than $110million annual budget and staff over 650 stafftaff directly reporting to this post: None

Experiences and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree or Diploma in Human Resource, Business Administration, Secretarial Science and or Office Management

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• 1-2 years’ work experience in NGO setting or other busy working environment
• Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Human Resource, Administration or in similar fields.
• Good English Language Command.
• Good computer and writing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
