Course Overview

Designed for power users and data professionals, this Advanced Excel certificate course equips learners with the full functionality of Excel. Students will master complex data analysis, automation, and visualization techniques required to drive business decisions.

Format

Over the course of 5 days, you will be immersed in a dynamic on site/ Online learning journey, featuring expert-led classrooms, curated visual, and collaborative problem-based learning activities, all facilitated by skilled and experienced instructors in the field.

Module 1: Advanced Formulas and Functions

• Lookup & Reference Functions: Master XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and nested INDEX and MATCH formulas.
• Logical & Information Functions: Utilize IF, AND, OR, IFERROR, and ISBLANK for smart logic and error control.
• Text & Data Cleaning: Extract and format data using LEFT, RIGHT, MID, TRIM, CONCAT, and TEXTJOIN.
• Math, Financial & Statistical Functions: Apply SUMIF, COUNTIF, XIRR, XNPV, and Database functions.

Module 2: Data Analysis and Advanced PivotTables

Analyze, summarize, and visualize massive datasets.

• Mastering PivotTables: Create calculated fields, group by dates/numbers, and add data slicers and timelines.
• PivotCharts & Dashboards: Design dynamic charts and build interactive executive dashboards.
• Data Validation: Create drop-down lists and set custom numerical or text validation rules.
• Data Consolidation & Grouping: Combine data from multiple worksheets and use the Subtotal tool.

Module 3: Forecasting and "What-If" Analysis

Predict future outcomes and analyze alternative data sets.

• Scenario Manager & Data Tables: Test different financial and operational scenarios.
• Goal Seek & Solver: Work backwards to determine necessary inputs to achieve a specific target.
• Forecasting: Create visual forecast sheets to predict future trends based on historical data.

Module 4: Automation and Macros

Save time by automating repetitive tasks and streamlining workflows.

• Recording Macros: Create and edit basic automation macros without coding.
• VBA Basics: Introduce the Visual Basic for Applications editor to perform basic code editing.
• Form Controls: Implement buttons, check boxes, and scroll bars to build interactive spreadsheets.

Module 5: Data Auditing, Security, and Collaboration

Protect sensitive corporate data and collaborate securely.

• Formula Auditing: Trace precedents and dependents and evaluate complex formulas step-by-step.
• Workbook Security: Encrypt workbooks, lock specific cells, and assign password protection.
• Collaboration & Change Tracking: Track changes, merge workbooks, and manage user permissions.
