What we are looking for

 

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking an experienced Strategic Learning Lead for its upcoming BHA-funded resilience and food security activity in Somalia. This innovative activity focuses on providing a graduation pathway out of poverty for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities in urban settlements. As part of the BRCiS Consortium, the Strategic Learning Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and sustainability of this important initiative. The Strategic Learning Lead, as part of the BRCiS Consortium, will ensure the effective implementation of learning and adaptation strategies, and manage knowledge sharing and research partnerships to enhance the program's impact. What you will do

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Learning Framework Implementation:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning framework, including collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA) strategies, to support the program's objectives.
  • Ensure alignment of program activities with NRC's global standards and the specific requirements of the BHA-funded initiative.

Consortium and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Lead collaboration and knowledge exchange among consortium members.
  • Facilitate effective communication and best practice sharing within the consortium and with external stakeholders.
  • Represent NRC in relevant forums to enhance organizational visibility and impact

Knowledge Management:

  • Develop and manage a robust knowledge management system to capture, store, and disseminate learning and insights from the program.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team and amongst consortium partners.

Research Partnership Management:

  • Manage relationships with research partners to ensure alignment with program objectives.
  • Coordinate and oversee research activities, ensuring they contribute to program learning and adaptation.
  • Synthesize research findings to inform program strategies and practices.

Capacity Building and Team Management:

  • Build capacity of team members and local partners in knowledge management, learning frameworks, and research methodologies.
  • Provide mentorship and support to staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Experiences and Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Social Sciences, Economics).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program design, monitoring, evaluation, and learning in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Proven experience with CLA frameworks, working with learning partners and consortium members.
  • Demonstrated expertise in graduation approaches and cost-effectiveness analysis.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
