Job Description

 

Specific responsibilities

  • ensure the safety and well-being of students.
  •  support the project schools in identification and referral of children in need of specialized services. 
  • Ensure learner Well-being: Ensure that child protection and GBV policies are effectively implemented within the schools.
  • Training and Awareness: disseminate child rights and duty of care within the schools
  • Reporting Mechanisms: maintain clear reporting procedures for suspected child protection and GBV cases within the schools.
  • Collaboration: Work with area child protection agencies, law enforcement, and community organizations to promote child safety.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly assess the effectiveness of child protection and GBV measures and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Data Management: Maintain confidential records of reported cases and ensure data is used responsibly.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for children’s rights and promote a culture of safety within the schools.
  • Parent and Community Engagement: Foster relationships with parents and the community to raise awareness and support for child protection initiatives.
  • Promote the establishment of safe spaces within the school for students to discuss child protection GBV-related issues.

Experiences and Qualifications

We are looking for a Hight School graduate or Other higher education is added advantage with at least 1-2 years of work experience.

Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.  Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication skills, Community mobilisation skills who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels.

In this position you will join highly motivated and expert staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people.

What We Offer:

Contract period: Until December 2024 with possible extension 

Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s salary scale and terms and conditions

Travel: None

Duty station: Kismayo, Luuq and Elwaq
