Action Against Hunger USA is part of the Action Against Hunger International network. As an independent NGO, Action Against Hunger USA currently manages operations in 8 countries: Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia and Haiti. Action Against Hunger-USA has over $100 million in programs, and approximately 1,800 permanent staff based in New York City, Washington D.C, Nairobi, and country offices. Additional growth is anticipated.
Summary of Position
The qualified nurses will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, coordinating healthcare services, and educating patients and their families. He/She work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to individuals across the lifespan especially children with acute malnutrition with complications.
Purpose
The purpose of the qualified nurse role is to promote and maintain the health and well-being of patients. He/She will assess patient needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, administer treatments and medications, advocate for patient rights, and provide emotional support. Qualified nurses play a vital role in enhancing patient outcomes and ensuring the highest standards of care.
Engagement
Qualified nurses will engage in various activities to provide comprehensive nursing care. He/She will assess patient conditions, collaborate with the healthcare team, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient progress, educate patients and families, maintain accurate records, and advocate for patient needs and rights.
