POLISH HUMANITARIAN ACTION IS LOOKING FOR 3 Project Officers

Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is a non-governmental organization which mission it is to make the world a better place. For over 20 years, we have been providing relief in big and small emergencies worldwide alongside with running long-term missions in several countries in crisis.
Our interventions – of both humanitarian and development character– have been carried out in 44 countries so far. Our focus is on ensuring sustainable and stable development of regions suffering the consequences of war and/or natural disasters. PAH Mission in Somalia:
PAH has been present in Somalia since 2011 implementing WASH, FSL and Nutrition programs. PAH supported people from the most vulnerable communities in different regions in Somalia. PAH operates from a country office in Mogadishu and four field offices (Adaado, Dhusamareb, Jowhar, and Galkacyo) with support from SHF, WFP, UNICEF, GFFO, and ECHO.
PAH in Somalia is looking for Project officers who will become part of our Program team. The person will hold the following responsibilities:
· Serve as the primary liaison between PAH and beneficiaries, facilitating communication regarding activities and collecting feedback to inform project design and implementation.
· Conduct regular supervision of project activities, sharing insights and recommendations with line managers to enhance effectiveness.
· Carry out needs assessments in target communities, utilizing findings to develop appropriate hygiene and sanitation promotion strategies.
· Collaborate with line managers to establish beneficiary selection criteria and verification processes.
· Coordinate with partners in Baidoa, Banadir, or Balcad to implement project activities across sectors (FSL, DRR, WASH, and protection), ensuring a focus on transformative gender programming.
· Engage in community mobilization and education to identify market needs, oversee agricultural input distributions, and promote project goals and objectives.
· Conduct capacity assessments for the Administration, Operation, and Maintenance (AOM) of WASH services, supporting field coordination efforts.
· Organize and facilitate training sessions for project beneficiaries to enhance their skills and capacity.
· Ensure effective networking and coordination with stakeholders and partners to optimize project implementation.
· Maintain accountability in financial accounting and procurement processes, adhering to internal communication protocols.
· Prepare and manage documentation for beneficiary contracts and attendance records, coordinating with HR and finance for timely processing.
· Implement project activities as directed by the line manager, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
· Facilitate community awareness sessions to promote project initiatives and encourage local involvement.
· Design and implement monitoring checklists to ensure accountability and quality assurance in project delivery.
· Perform any additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
The candidate should have:
· A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in humanitarian emergency and transition/development contexts, with at least 2 years specifically in the implementation of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and FSL (Food Security and Livelihood) interventions.
· Degree in public health, environmental health, community development, Agriculture, food security or any other related fields from an accredited university/college
· Fluent in English language both written and oral.
· Fluent in Somali language
· Knowledge of basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
Context related skills and experience
· Knowledge of the operating context in South and Central Somalia, particularly in WASH and Food Security.
· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
· Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
· Understanding of complex emergencies, transitions, and development contexts.
· Ability to coordinate project implementation with diverse stakeholders.
· Experience in implementing WASH and FSL interventions.
· Detail-oriented, flexible, and creative problem-solver.
· Goal-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
· Strong organizational and administrative skills.
· Effective teamwork and support skills
