The Role:
To provide essential field-level follow-up on the Permaculture activities initiated under the EU-BREACH project in Burao District. Following the completion of the consultant's assignment, the Temporary Field Assistant will ensure continuity of implementation by supporting the establishment, maintenance, and documentation of permaculture demonstration sites in IDP settlements. The role will also assist in other FSL components including Cash for Work (CFW), VSLA mentorship, and TVET follow-up. The assistant will work closely with communities, local leaders, and technical teams to ensure permaculture design plans are realized, trainings are sustained, and learning is documented.

Permaculture Implementation and Follow-up · Conduct field follow-up and assist with implementation of permaculture site designs developed by the consultant. · Support in establishing fencing, compost pits, swales, beds, and water harvesting structures as per master plan. · Mobilize IDP community groups for participation in permaculture maintenance activities. · Monitor and support community groups or individuals assigned to permaculture sites. · Promote use of local resources in permaculture site development as guided by the training materials and consultant plans. |

Training Support and Knowledge Transfer · Organize and facilitate practical refreshers for farmers using the developed Permaculture Training Guide. · Demonstrate basic permaculture techniques to community members during follow-up visits. · Support households trained in permaculture to replicate practices in their home gardens. · Distribute and explain the use of the permaculture monitoring checklist provided by the consultant. |

Working Environment:
The position is office-based in Burao, Somaliland with regular travel to other field locations.
