BACKGROUND:
Lifeline-Gedo (LLG) is a Humanitarian, Non-profit and non-governmental organization dedicated to responding to humanitarian emergences through provision of life-saving support mechanisms in partnership with national and international role players, promoting peace and stability, advocate against all kinds of violence, initiate long term and short-term development projects. LLG prioritizes identifying the most appropriate targets for their projects where the poorest communities are suffering most.

2. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Lifeline-Gedo (LLG) is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Grants Coordinator to support effective grants management across its entire portfolio including AARAN funded by FCDO, Hanaano funded by Irish Aid, Somalia Humanitarian Fund (SHF) projects, Somalia Cash Consortium (SCC), WFP-supported interventions, and Health and Nutrition programmes. The Grants Coordinator will ensure high-quality proposal development, compliance, reporting, and donor engagement, contributing to effective programme delivery and strategic growth of LLG.
The Grants Coordinator will play a central role in managing the full grant lifecycle across all LLG projects, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and organizational priorities. The role will work closely with programme, MEAL, finance, and operations teams to ensure timely proposal development, quality reporting, and compliance with donor regulations. The position will also strengthen internal systems for grants tracking, documentation, and knowledge management, while supporting donor relations and resource mobilization efforts.

1. Strategic Resource Mobilization & Programme Positioning
• Lead the strategic development of high-quality proposals, concept notes, and budgets that reflect LLG’s vision, comparative advantage, and long-term resilience approach.
• Drive the identification, analysis, and pursuit of funding opportunities aligned with LLG’s strategic priorities and evolving humanitarian and development landscape.
• Contribute to shaping programme design through evidence, context analysis, and community-informed approaches.
• Position LLG competitively within consortia and partnerships, particularly under platforms such as AARAN and similar initiatives.
2. Partnerships & External Engagement
• Build and sustain strong, strategic relationships with donors, UN agencies, INGOs, LNGOs, and consortium partners.
• Act as a key focal point for donor engagement, representation, and communication, enhancing LLG’s visibility and credibility.
• Support LLG’s strategic engagement within consortium structures, ensuring effective collaboration and influence.
• Identify and cultivate new partnerships that expand LLG’s reach, impact, and funding opportunities.
3. Grant Management & Compliance Leadership
• Provide oversight across the full grant lifecycle—from proposal to close-out—ensuring full compliance with donor regulations and LLG policies.
• Strengthen internal systems for grant tracking, compliance monitoring, and risk management.
• Ensure all grants are implemented in a way that is audit-ready, transparent, and aligned with accountability standards.
• Support programme teams in navigating complex donor requirements and ensuring timely deliverables.
4. Quality Reporting & Knowledge Management
• Lead the development and review of high-quality donor reports, ensuring strong storytelling, accuracy, and alignment with results.
• Promote a culture of documentation, learning, and knowledge sharing across programmes.
• Ensure lessons learned, innovations, and programme impacts are systematically captured and used to inform future programming.
5. Internal Coordination & Capacity Strengthening
•Serve as a bridge between programme, MEAL, finance, and operations teams to ensure integrated and coordinated delivery.
• Facilitate structured grant review and pipeline meetings to track progress, address challenges, and strengthen accountability.
• Build internal capacity in proposal development, donor compliance, and grants management across teams.
6. Accountability, Compliance & Safeguarding
• Ensure all grants integrate strong accountability to affected populations, safeguarding standards, and CHS commitments.
• Promote transparency, ethical practices, and responsible management of resources and information.
• Strengthen systems for feedback, complaints handling, and community engagement across programmes.
Essential
ü Bachelor’s degree in international development, Business Administration, Project Management, Social Sciences, or related field; Master’s degree is an added advantage.
ü Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in grants management, proposal development, and business development within NGOs.
ü Proven experience working with donors.
ü Strong track record in successful proposal development and fundraising.
ü Demonstrated experience in donor compliance, reporting, and partnership development.
ü Excellent writing, analytical, and coordination skills.
ü Ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines simultaneously.
Languages Required
ü Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Somali.
Desirable
ü Experience working in Somalia, particularly Gedo region.
ü Familiarity with multi-sectoral programming (WASH, Health, Nutrition, Livelihoods, Cash).
ü Knowledge of MEAL frameworks and results-based management.
ü Experience in consortium-based programming and partnerships.
