DESCRIPTION: Private Service Providers (PSPs) Master Training of Trainers consultancy
Background:
The Somalia Resilience Programme (SomReP) is a consortium of seven international nongovernmental organizations (INGO) and one Local NGO. SomReP works to enhance the resilience of chronically vulnerable households, communities and systems across Somalia/land.
The Somalia Resilience Program (SomReP) is an ambitious approach to tackle the challenge of recurrent droughts and the chronic vulnerability among pastoralists, agro-pastoralists, and periurban households in one of the poorest countries in the world. SomReP is being implemented through a consortium of 7 INGOs (ACF, ADRA, CARE, COOPI, DRC, Oxfam and WVI) and 1 Local NGO(Shaqodoon)
Objective and role overview
Somalia resilience program (SOMREP) over the past 10 years has been involved in implementing resilience programs in Somalia/land. The consortium supports among others women led economic groups, mostly been the village savings and loan associations. To ensure
sustainability and replication of this model within the community we need to train field agents to become PSPs. The PSPs will be tasked with training new groups under new programs as well as offer services at a fee to the community.
In this view SOMREP seeks a competent consultant with proven experience in conducting Master PSPs Training of Trainers skills to project staff who will in turn train the field agents.
Specific tasks for the Consultant
The training shall cover all phases of the PSP model which include preparatory phase, probation phase, Field Agent phase and PSP phases.
To train project staff on how they can identify FAs in their impact area which is a key initial step
in operationalization of the PSP model.
To train the project staff on FA induction training and conduct hands on training on how project
staff can facilitate FA induction training and follow up refresher trainings.
Train project staff on how they can determine the stipend value and deploy FAs to field
Train the project staff on how they can supervise and support the FAs to facilitate their
transition to become PSPs.
To train project staff on how they can select suitable FAs, and certify the most deserving to become PSPs.
