DESCRIPTION: Expression of Interest – TVET Kits for Fishing Boats
Background information:
World Vision Somaliland, through its Livelihood Sector, supported five youth in Berbera to complete a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program in Fishing Boat Maintenance and Repair. The training combined practical skills with theoretical knowledge in areas such as mechanical repair, safety, and customer service. To support their transition into employment, World Vision will provide the graduates with mechanical start-up kits, enabling them to begin offering boat maintenance services and contribute to local economic growth.
These kits include essential tools such as protective safety tools, mechanical tool sets, welding machines, small drills, angle grinders, and more. The provision of these tools will empower the trainees to offer fishing boat maintenance and repair services within their communities, contributing to local economic development and the sustainability of the fishing sector.
