Job Purpose

Manage and direct activities of Engineering Department for customer satisfaction, in a cost-effective manner and with due regards for quality, safety and environment.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead, monitor, review and demonstrate safe work behaviour and practices in conformity with DP World Safety and Environment Policy, standards and procedures.
• Review all incidents/near misses, ensure corrective actions are appropriate and have been completed.
• Ensure compliance with corporate initiatives and objectives.
• Prepare long term maintenance plans.
• Prepare and implement annual maintenance plans, including operating budgets for maintenance (OPEX and CAPEX), all expenditure within budget.
• Identify potential problem areas in equipment maintenance and devise remedies or improvements.
• Operate financial and accounting modules of the Maintenance Management system.
• Monitor and manage costs for all maintenance activities.
• Optimum use of all physical resources allocated to maintenance.
• Optimize use of all human resources allocated to maintenance.
• Produce plans, drawings and proposals for improvements to maintenance resources.
• Perform regular maintenance data analyses.
• Manage purchasing requests for repair parts, stock levels maintenance.
• Ensure all stores are properly maintained and stock items are serviceable.
• Promote new technologies and best practices available in Container Ports.
• Prepare training plan for Engineering team and ensure career management, personal development and personal satisfaction.

Experiences and Qualifications

Qualification, Experience and Skills

• Related Work Experience:
• Mandatory: Minimum 15 years of related work experience.
  
   
• Education / Qualifications:
• Mandatory: Specialized in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  Preferable: Engineering Degree or equivalent.
   
• Spoken / Written Languages:
• Mandatory: Proficiency in English.
  
   
• Computer Skills:
• Mandatory: Computer literate.
  Preferable: Experienced in Office Applications, EAMS (Enterprise Asset Management System).
   
• Safety & Environment:
• Mandatory: Fully conversant with Safety and Environment Best Practices.
   
• Financial Skills:
• Mandatory: Awareness of Financial principles.
