What will you do?
Assist Head Cook with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat.
Perform cleaning duties; Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.
Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations by ensuring food safety standards are met and followed
Receive and store food items according to safety and sanitation guidelines
Plate meals according to recipes and presentation standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
The ability to stand for extended periods.
Perform any other task assgned by the immediate supervisor.

Are you competent for this job? Knowledge and skills desired:
Full knowledge of the Statutory Regulations contained in the Health & Safety Act.
Comprehensive understanding of Food Hygiene Regulations.
Experience of high-volume catering in a busy work place.
Fully conversant with various cooking methods like boiling, baking, roasting and steaming.
Detailed knowledge of seasoning and recipes.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Terms and Conditions
Contract duration: 11 months, Non-renewable.
