Background

Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Somalia is one of the nexus and peace partners of the German Development Ministry (BMZ). Through different cooperation instruments and budget lines, in particular official bilateral development cooperation and the crisis budget lines, and following a multi-sector approach, Germany is one of the most important bilateral donors in Somalia and is valued by the Somali partners.

The main priority areas of the German Development Cooperation in Somalia are:

Transformation of agri-food systems.

Peaceful and inclusive societies.

Sustainable economic development, training and employment.

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German federal enterprise offering services in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development and international educational work. The company operates in 120 countries worldwide and is headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn, Germany. GIZ has been operating in Somalia since 2015, in various sectors. GIZ projects and programs are distributed across the regions in the country including the federal level (Mogadishu), and the member states of Jubaland, South West, Hirshabelle, Puntland and Somaliland, and are managed from GIZ’s office in Nairobi, Kenya.

GIZ in Somalia has a total work force of 130 national employees subject to changes across the year due to joiners and persons that exit the organization. The regular duty station in Somalia/Somaliland includes Mogadishu, Kismayo, Hargeisa, Garowe, Burtinle, Burao and Baidoa, but dependant’s presence is across the country.

GIZ is therefore seeks to contract a reputable underwriting insurance company to provide a staff medical insurance that entails benefits which ensure members of staff receive quality health care, within the boundaries of Somalia/Somaliland and selected options outside the country.

The contractor will Provide a comprehensive cost-effective medical insurance scheme that encompasses the following areas.

Inpatient treatment

Outpatient treatment

Dental treatment

Optical services

Maternity related services

Technical proposal should include:

a brief company profiles

Company’s annual turnover for the last three years

List of employee and managers for past three calendar years

Evidence of valid commercial registration/s
