Position: Training Center Manager

Job grade: Band 6

Location: Mogadishu

Direct Reports to:  SRCS Executive Director

Duration: 1 Year

Background: The Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS) is a non-political humanitarian organization dedicated to providing lifesaving services across Somalia. Despite operating in a challenging environment characterized by conflict and insecurity, SRCS remains committed to its mission. The organization runs various programs, including healthcare, disaster management, youth development, and volunteer training.

Project Summary: The SRCS Training & Development Center aims to empower youth, volunteers, and institutional staff in Somalia with essential skills for employment, community development, and disaster response. The center will offer training in areas such as first aid, disaster management, computer literacy, and multimedia skills.

Key Responsibilities: The Training Center Manager will be responsible for the following:

ü  Determining and evaluating present and future training needs through career paths, job analyses, yearly performance reviews, and line manager consultation.
Creating training and development plans that are tailored to the requirements and aspirations of each individual or group.

ü  Using a broad range of training techniques, such as workshops, e-learning, coaching, mentoring, coaching, and simulations.

ü  Leading successful orientation and induction programs for new hires.
Reporting on the effectiveness, success, and return on investment (ROI) of the training program on a regular basis.

ü  Efficiently allocating the training budget.

ü  Providing chances for further education and professional growth.

ü  Fixing any particular issues and modifying training plans as needed.

ü  Keeping abreast with the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in training.

Experiences and Qualifications

ob Competencies & Experience

ü  Relevant Experience: At least five years of experience at a training facility
Track record of creating and implementing effective training programs.

ü  Demonstrated job experience as a training manager.

ü  Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

ü  Comfort with both conventional and contemporary training methods.
Capacity to efficiently organize, multitask, and manage time.

ü  Exhibited understanding of and dedication to the core values of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

ü  The capacity to train and maintain documentation for training manuals and reports.
Expertise with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

ü  Exhibit a willingness to adapt and the capacity to handle complexity.
Exhibited the capacity to manage intergroup dynamics, resolve conflicts, and reconcile divergent interests.

ü  Strong writing abilities and the analytical ability to combine project results and conclusions to create high-caliber program reports

ü  Maturity & confidence in dealing with senior and high ranking officials

ü  Remain calm, in control and good humored even under pressure

ü  Respond positively to critical feedback and differing points of views.

ü  Good computer and database skills.

ü  Bachelor's degree in education, Business Administration or a relevant field.
