Job Description

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR PROVISION OF 30 SETS OF DIALECT TRANSLATION KIT WITH A TRANSLATOR

 

  1. Background Introduction

One of the key activities of the Education Sector Plan Development Grant (ESPDG) project is to support the MOEHE in facilitating an Annual Joint Review of Education Sector (JRES) as a sector-wide performance monitoring mechanism. JRES is set against the costed Education Sector Plan and thus review performance of the sector at large including government-funded initiatives and activities. The JRES will also cover all sources of funding in the sector (i.e. other donors and the private sector), in order to review progress against set benchmarks, but also so as to identify synergies, complementarities and overlaps.

The Joint Review of the Education Sector will bring together all the key stakeholders including but not limited to the following:

  • Ministry of Education.
  • Ministry of Planning and Coordination.
  • Heads and Directors of key education institutions.
  • Regional and district education officials.
  • Embedded Technical Advisors.
  • Institutional donors (notably the EU, USAID, DFID).
  • INGOs and UN Agencies active in the education sector.

 

The JRES review process will culminate into a two-day workshop process which is scheduled for 20th – 21st November 2024 in which all but not limited to the above stakeholders will come together to review the education sector in Puntland.

  1. Scope of work that of the firm that will provide two-way simultaneous translation equipment(s)

The firm will be responsible for ensuring availability of all the required equipment and smooth conducting of the day today activities.

 

 

(a)    Specific activities

 

    • Provision of 30 sets of dialect translation kit with a translator and a technician who will handle any technical problem related to the smooth operations of the machine system and the microphones
    • Ensure English Somali two translation in a clear and understandable presentation to the listening audience.
    • Set a booth within the JRES workshop in a strategic place
    • Reporting and Coverage of the conference

(b)    Timeline

The JRES is scheduled for 20th – 21st November 2024 and the contract start date will be effective from 19 November 2020

Expected output

 

·         Delivery of the 30 translation Equipment’s and accurate translation processes throughout the two-day sessions

·         A detailed report of the proceedings/coverage including video capture

 

Expected duration of the assignment

The contract period will entail 5 days of work including preparation, translation, reporting, and editing days.

 

Experiences and Qualifications
