The situation has been further worsened by ongoing conflicts in the Sanaag region, which is the primary target area for this project.

The SOMJR project delivers both immediate and long-term relief, focusing on the WASH and Livelihoods sectors. These interventions aim to reduce human suffering, enhance community resilience, and support recovery efforts in the Sanaag region.

A key component of the project is enhancing food security by meeting the urgent needs of affected communities while also implementing environmental protection measures. These efforts are designed to counteract the adverse effects of climate change and support sustainable natural resource management.
