Welthungerhilfe is one of the largest private aid organizations in Germany and has no political or religious affiliations. Welthungerhilfe has been active in Somaliland (Awdal, Woqooyi, and Galbeed) since 2001 and has recently expanded into South/Central Somalia in 2022 through cooperation with local implementing partners. Whilst our strategic focus is on building resilience and strengthening local humanitarian leadership, our 2023-2024 activities will also seek to respond to the present drought crisis through humanitarian relief. Welthungerhilfe has active projects in Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and South West of Somalia. Humanitarian emergency assistance, Food Security, Resilience programs-agriculture, WASH and infrastructure rehabilitation and infrastructure restoration are the core areas of our work in South Central Somalia 

About the project
Welthungerhilfe (WHH), through its local implementing partner GREDO, has been delivering nutrition interventions in 33992 communities, including 5 health facilities, covering 10636 children below five years and 1342 pregnant and lactating women (PLW) in Baidoa. The project runs from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. And was funded by a private donation, The project expands the Nutrition in Emergencies (NiE) to provide essential nutrition services for displaced and flood-affected communities in Baidoa improved nutritional status of children and PLWs in Baidoa through direct treatment of acute malnutrition and enhanced capacity of the government and nutrition cluster partners to deliver quality NiE programs.

Purpose/Objective
The purpose of this consultancy is to develop a Nutrition Cluster Strategy and Response Plan that enables partners to respond effectively and efficiently to the evolving nutrition landscape in Somalia. The strategy will provide a clear framework for emergency response, protracted crisis interventions, and recovery efforts.
