Job Description:

Livelihood and Gender Programming

• Facilitate the establishment and scaling of diverse climate-smart livelihood opportunities tailored to the needs of women and youth in the targeted communities.
• Oversee and support community-led rangeland restoration efforts, ensuring sustainable practices that align with environmental conservation goals.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to women- and youth-led Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), enhancing their access to inclusive financial services and promoting financial literacy.
• Implement Community Based Targeting, among the communities in a clear understandable manner according to the guidelines provided.
• Mobilize the community and guide the process of committee’s selection.

Project monitoring, Documentation and Reporting

• Organize and conduct training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns on sustainable, gender-responsive natural resource management, targeting community members, local leaders, and stakeholders.
• Facilitate discussions and activities that challenge traditional gender norms, promoting women's economic participation and leadership within households and communities.
• Monitor community project implementation and measure/collect work norms on monthly basis
• Facilitate community awareness of project ownership and sustainability
• Collect monitoring data with community members in a collaborative and systematic fashion.
• Support in the supervision of community-based monitoring activities, as necessary in the programme context.
• Participating in monthly, quarterly, and end project reports and success stories in the project.

Gender and protection Mainstreaming

• Ensure the project is mainstreamed with protection and Gender aspects
• Implement and monitor World Vision Somalia’s protection system within humanitarian unit
• Make sure and work that protection is part of World Vision Somalia’s feedback and complaints mechanism
• Communicate and disseminate World Vision Somalia’s protection policies and procedures for staff and concerned stakeholders and partners.
• Conduct induction/orientation, training and capacity building of staff on how to mainstream/ GBV protection in project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Receive, compile, analyse, share and file protection related feedback and complaints
• Establish referral pathways to ensure beneficiaries receive holistic support.

Stakeholders Engagement and Coordination

• Liaise with Community, Government authorities, stakeholders; provide project information regarding beneficiary registration, distribution plans, and project progress. Coordinate with government, local and international NGOs, UN agencies and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support for beneficiaries.
• Actively represent WVI at coordination forums 
• Timey submission of 5W matrix to the Project Manager
• Manage and maintain relationships with community leaders, women’s rights platforms and other community-based organisations.
• Identify and report on other needs such as health care, additional food needs, development activities, or any other rehabilitation and/or development activity.
• Train communities on beneficiary and committees’ selections, do not harm principals.
• Support Project Manager and Technical Advisor in roll out of new initiatives within the community

Experiences and Qualifications

• 4 years’ experience in Gender, Livelihood, Agriculture, Environment, disaster risk management, rural development, emergency responses, commodity/cash programming and or related field.
• Good communicator and mobilizer
• Good understanding of World Vision and sphere standards.
• Knowledge of and adherence of the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct.
• Speaks and understands local language
• Ability to engage with local communities, partners and government authorities

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

• Degree in community development, Environment, , Agriculture, , Environmental management/natural resources management or related field.
