Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Program Officer – Climate Resilient will provide technical oversight of the implementation of the NORAD framework’s Climate Change Adaption and Mitigation component ensuring effective systems and processes are in place that support high-quality programming. He / She will ensure high-quality implementation and continuously work towards ensuring that activities of Climate Change Adaption and Mitigation lead to desired impact. He/she will apply an in-depth contextual understanding, technical knowledge, experience in locally led climate resilience, capacity building skills and integrated interventions to define and deliver the unique integrated interventions of climate resilience in local education systems and Child Right Governance in Somalia.
The Jobholder will focus on the implementation of climate resilience in Somalia/Somaliland throughout the framework programme outcomes. The Jobholder will work collaboratively with education, Child Protection and Child right Governance to ensure systemic integration climate resilience throughout the intervention implementation to ensure programme outcomes are successfully realised.
