Invitation To Bid provision of Purchase one Brand new Massey Ferguson 375 4WD Tractor in Midhisho Community Seed Bank under Erigavo District Sanaag Region.
Agricultural Development Organization – ADO is a local, non-governmental, non-profit seeking organization established in 1993 that endeavors to promote agricultural sector, water accessibility, farmers’ capacity and environmental protection and conservation in order to empower and improve livelihood conditions of the poor agro-pastoral community in Somaliland through rights-based approach. ADO values development-oriented programs to ensure sustainability of institutions and interventions for poverty eradication especially those targeting vulnerable and marginalized groups in Somaliland.
However, in partnership with the Development Fund of Norway (DF) and the Darwin Initiative, the Agricultural Development Organization (ADO) is implementing a long-term project titled “Climate Resilience, Food, and Livelihood Security for Agro-Pastoralists” (2022–2027). This project is funded by the Darwin Initiative through the Development Fund of Norway, with ADO leading on-the-ground implementation efforts. The primary goal is to improve seed, food, and livelihood security for agro-pastoralist households in Somaliland. The project focuses on building resilience in two key sites Beer and Midhisho villages by enhancing access to quality seeds, promoting improved soil and water management practices, raising awareness of farmers' rights, and strengthening the capacity of both community members and government institutions for the sustainable use and management of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture. Additionally, the project supports the development and promotion of relevant policies.
As part of the project implementation, a new community seed bank was established in Midhisho village, located in the Erigavo District of the Sanaag Region. The seed bank is currently operational and functioning effectively. To scale up its impact and ensure long-term sustainability as a self-reliant institution, ADO with funding from the Darwin Initiative through the Development Fund of Norway has provided a 375-horsepower 4WD tractor with full accessories for the Midhisho Community Seed Bank.
To enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in the Midhisho Community Seed Bank, Erigavo District, by providing a tractor to strengthen local seed systems, increase crop yields, and reduce the labor intensity of farming.
Specific Objectives
Strengthen Seed Bank Operations: Expand and maintain seed bank activities by enabling cultivation of larger land areas for seed production, ensuring a diverse and resilient seed supply.
Support affordable tractor access for small farmers by providing cost-effective tractor services to improve crop productivity, support sustainable income generation, and reduce manual labor in Midhisho village and surrounding area
Foster Sustainability and Income Generation: Enhance the long-term sustainability and economic viability of the Midhisho Community Seed Bank through income-generating services.
To increase crop yields by improving land preparation, planting, and harvesting efficiency through mechanized farming, thus reducing reliance on traditional manual labor
Therefore, ADO is inviting Somaliland registered contractors to participate in these flowing Tractors

Working hours between 8:00am to 3:00pm (Sunday to Thursday).
Tender closing date is August 2th, 2025 at 2:00 pm East Africa Time.
All completed tender should be summited in sealed envelope to be bring Hargeisa office, the envelope should indicate the tittle of tender notice, but have no other details related to the bid.
