Head of Project*in Boroma 

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until December 31, 2024. Employment location will be Boroma, Somalia.

The Head of Project (m/f) WASH is responsible for the implementation and coordination of the WASH activities of Welthungerhilfe in the project region according to the prescribed content, organisational, temporal and financial framework. The project is carried out in accordance with WHH standards and the directives/provisions of the co-financer. The Head of Project carries out the project according to the co-financing agreement and Welthungerhilfe's standards for the implementation of projects.

 Your responsibilities 

• The Head of Project is responsible for modifying and continuing project planning and the project budget using WHH's internal finance reporting tool FundsPro.
• Is responsible for the security of national staff involved in the project and for the implementation of the security plan.

• Following up on registration of the project with the Somaliland government
• Coordination of the project with the related Somaliland line ministry.Coordination of the project activities with the WASH TWGs of Somaliland and UN.
• Communication and liaising with the WHH marketing department in Germany. In collaboration with the Communications Officer, organize visibility and success stories for reports and feedback to private donors.
• Preparing and supervising visits (journalists, staff from Head Office, representatives of co-financers, etc.).Responsible for updating all project information on WHH's internal project management database (ProMIS).
• In collaboration with the project MEAL Assistant ensure that the project monitoring is done continuously and the (feedback and complaints mechanism) FCRM is functional.

Experiences and Qualifications

Your profile 

• Master Degree in Engineering, Economy, rural development, or other relevant fields.
• 1-2 years experience in leadership and project management
• min. 3 years experience in working in development cooperation with NGO programs or humanitarian assistance programs
• WASH background is desireable.
• Knowledge about development and maintenance of hygiene systems is desirable.
• Experience in Community development, social work, adult education, campaigning, advocating for behavior change is desireable.
• Very good communication skills in English
