World Vision Somaliland, through the EU-BREACH project, is working to improve the
livelihoods and resilience of vulnerable communities in Burco District. The project targets ten
rural communities and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) settlements, focusing on sustainable
development interventions, including skills development for youth. One of the core
components of the EU-BREACH project is the promotion of Technical and Vocational
Education and Training (TVET) programs. These programs aim to equip young people—
particularly those from marginalized backgrounds—with practical skills that enhance their
employability and income-generating potential. The training areas were selected based on
local market demand, youth interest, and opportunities for self-employment. Upon
completing their training, TVET trainees were guided through the process of developing
viable business plans. A competitive selection process was conducted, and the most
promising and feasible business plans were identified. The beneficiaries with the best plans
are now set to receive business start-up kits, enabling them to transition from training to
entrepreneurship and income generation. Our aim is to connect with companies that have
strong experience in procuring TVET kits especially –Procurement of Tailoring Equipment
and accessories kits for TVET students.
