Job Description

NRC Livelihoods and food security department in Central Somalia is implementing emergency lifesaving and sustaining livelihoods through provision of MPCA, UCT and Market based livelihoods included on farm and none-farm based livelihoods for the displacement-affected communities. Hence, NRC will be hiring a qualified casual staff/enumerator to support us in implementation of emergency livelihoods and food security projects in Galgaduud, with travelling to remote Villages in the District to conduct beneficiaries’ registrations, monitoring, data cleaning, verifications, and community mobilizations. The causal staff (enumerator) is expected to represent Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in a respectful and professional manner and always act in accordance with the NRC Code of Conduct.

The Community mobilizer is responsible for the community engagement, community mobilization, organizing the processes of beneficiary’s registration in the assigned target locations in Abudwak/Balanbal and Herale Districts of Galgaduud Region.



Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities:

Conduct beneficiary mobilization in all target villages.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to being accountable to beneficiaries as it is a key to the Norwegian Refugee Council’s commitment to beneficiaries.

Sensitize beneficiaries on the cash value entitlement to be received monthly, duration, and how/where the cash assistance will be received.

Collate data, contribute to the preparation of reports, and provide information for better decision-making by stakeholders including selection process, identification and selection criteria.

Assist Protection risks survivors and advises via existing referral bath ways.

Disseminate project visibilities, establish appropriate and accessible Complaint & Responses Mechanisms in the target sites, and introduce beneficiaries to address their concerns to the available CRMs hotlines.

Support community awareness raising activities.

Prepare and submit monthly reports and regular/activity/site visit reports on regular basis.

Undertake Beneficiaries data record in excel sheets and manuals.

Perform other functions as requested by the immediate supervisor.

Experiences and Qualifications

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a university graduate in Social Science with a minimum of One year of previous experience in Community engagement Mobilizer.

Experience working in Abudwak , Herale & Balanbal Somalia.  Previous work experience on social work, community mobilization, and community engagement & Fluency in English & Somali both written and verbal.

We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication skills who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels.

In this position, you will join highly motivated and expert staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people. 

What We Offer:

Contract period:  Initial contract 2 months and will call on need based. 

Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s salary scale and terms and conditions

Travel: Frequent travel to surrounding project areas

Duty station: Abudwak , Balanbal & Herale
