Development of EMIS Dashboard with Automated Routines for Data Cleaning and Consistency Checks.

Background
Since its nationwide rollout, MoECHE’s Education Management Information System (EMIS) has become the authoritative repository for student data in formal education. Yet, without an integrated visualization
layer or automated dataquality controls, Federal Member State (FMS) teams must rely on manual exports, timeintensive cleansing, and painstaking reconciliation before meaningful analysis can occur.
These laborious processes delay critical insights, impede timely equity monitoring, and limit the Ministry’s agility in responding to emerging trends.
Moreover, disparate reporting formats across states create inconsistencies that further complicate interstate comparisons and national reporting. The lack of automated validation routines increases the
risk of errors, undermining stakeholder confidence and hampering evidencebased decisionmaking. To transform raw data into real value, MoECHE requires a solution that seamlessly integrates advanced
analytics, userfriendly interfaces, and reliable data governance mechanisms.
The EMIS assessment that was conducted in November 2022 by ASI highlighted the following gaps in EMIS data management and provided recommendations to address these gaps and challenges.
 Gap: The dashboard available on EMIS pages has very few products and has limited quantity of analyzed information for use by stakeholders.
 Recommendation: EMIS users and stakeholders should be able to access EMIS data from any client PC requiring only the availability of a compatible web browser and internet connectivity. The system should be able to generate user-friendly reports on predesigned formats and facilities (Report Wizard) to retrieve the data according to the user demands.
 Gap: The EMIS system has teacher and school profiling but lacks the village, district and regional profiles.
Recommendation: The dashboards should have interactive infographics, especially for profiling at different levels like a village, district, or region.
Objective
To develop an EMIS dashboard that enables real-time visualization of trends, simplifies reporting processes, and enhances data quality through automated routines for data cleaning and consistency
checks. This includes delivering a cohesive, rolebased dashboard that provides MoECHE and FMS staff with: 
 Realtime Analytics: Live trend visualizations and key performance indicators, accessible at any time.
 Automated Validation: Builtin routines to cleanse and verify data, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
 Transparent Reporting: Publicfacing views of aggregated, anonymized metrics to foster stakeholder engagement.
