About the Project:
This project aims to provide urgent food and non-food assistance to drought-affected and displaced communities in the coastal regions of Awdal and Sahil, Somaliland. Prolonged drought has severely impacted livelihoods, depleted household assets, and reduced access to basic needs, leaving families in a state of vulnerability.
Through the distribution of essential food items (rice, flour, sugar, beans, oil, and milk) alongside non-food items (tarpaulins, mats, cooking utensils, and hygiene supplies), the project seeks to improve food security, restore dignity, and reduce the suffering of the most vulnerable families. The intervention will directly support 1,000 households, enabling them to stabilize their nutrition intake, improve living conditions, and safeguard health and wellbeing during this crisis.
The overall impact will be the reduction of immediate hunger, the prevention of malnutrition, and the restoration of basic shelter and hygiene for poor communities, thereby strengthening resilience and providing relief as they recover from the effects of drought and displacement.
