Job Description

Position title       :         Temporary SC Auxiliary Nurses (4 Positions)

Reporting to       :         SC Nurse

Location               :         Baidoa & Burhakaba

Position Summary         

The SC Assistant is expected to provide a high standard of promoting optimum health and preventive health care, thereby contributing to a safe, effective service to patients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the admission of severely malnourished children with medical complications.
  • Assist in nutritional therapy of the admitted children according to protocol.
  • Arrange, organize and conduct health, IYCF, hygiene and nutrition education sessions for the care takers of the admitted children.
  • Assist to maintain and report the SC supplies record properly.
  • Taking height and weight for children in medical centre.
  • Measuring weight MUAC of pregnant mothers                 
  • Ensure immunization of all the admitted children according to IMAM protocol and guidelines.
  • Explain to the mothers the reason of admission
  • To undertake any other duties assigned by his/her supervisor

Experiences and Qualifications

Qualification and Job competencies:

  • Diploma in Nutrition, secondary certificate or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive professional experience in doing of SC Assistance, or had work with Nutrition cluster for nutrition Projects.
  • Excellent command in Somali and English
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ward Management Skills
  • Basic Knowledge and experience Nutrition
  • Proactive, result oriented, independent, able to identify and carry out duties with minimum supervision
