General Description
The Social Worker will be a key team member in the implementation of the Education and well-being of the child project in the assigned base/area of jurisdiction. S/he will proactively work with households that are beneficiaries of project. S/he will ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project’s activities in accordance with the humanitarian principles, SIF values and policies (SIF charter of codes), the project design, National Laws, and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the social worker shall include but not limited to;
Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or related field ;
2 years’ minimum experience working with vulnerable communities ;
A certification in counselling or case management will be an added advantage;
Good interpersonal skills;
Strong cross-cultural communication is very important. Including ability to lead and work with a team ;
Excellent written and oral communication skill ;
Excellent command of English ;
Understanding of local context within the area of project implementation;
Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS Word ;
Ethics and Professional Practice
Respect and promote SIF’s Policies and Agree to comply with SIF Code of Conduct and ensures Child Safeguarding standards are upheld;
Report to your line manager any discrepancies of SIF’s policies among the team or partners
Maintain confidentiality at all times about SIF data and information;
Child safe Guarding: “SIF commits to respect the “Do no harm” humanitarian principle and ensure children’s safety is paramount in all its activities. SIF implements a Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP) at head office and for every mission. Therefore, we implement all necessary measures to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with vulnerable people, in particular with children join our organization.
