Overall purpose of the role
The Emergency Coordinator provides direct oversight and technical leadership to the DRC Somalia’s emergency response and mobile emergency response teams and oversees the delivery of DRC’s emergency MPCA portfolio in static and areas with extreme constraints. Furthermore, the EmCo is supporting the CD and HoP in developing DRC’s emergency programme strategy and ensures that linkages with other DRC sectors, especially within CCCM are forged. The EmCo will manage the delivery of DRCs emergency projects to the most vulnerable displacement and conflict affected populations based upon enhanced targeting modalities and will facilitate relations between DRC and the local communities in the realisation of emergency response project objectives, ensuring the mitigation of diversion tactics.

Contract: 12 Months with possibility of extension, subject to funding and performance. Salary and other conditions are offered in accordance with DRC’s Terms of Employment.Employment band Non-Management F
Availability: 15th May 2024
Duty station: This position is based in Mogadishu, with frequent travel to all locations in Somalia.
