BACKGROUND
Lifeline-Gedo (LLG) is a Humanitarian, Non-profit and non-governmental organization dedicated to responding to humanitarian emergences through provision of life-saving support mechanisms in partnership with national and international role players, promoting peace and stability, advocate against all kinds of violence, initiate long term and short-term development projects. LLG prioritizes to identify the most appropriate targets for their projects where the poorest communities are suffering most.
Position Title: Health and Nutrition Officer.
Duty Station: Bardere, Gedo, Somalia
Organizational Unit: Programmes
Reporting Directly To: Health and Nutrition Coordinator.
Overall Supervision By: Programs Manager.
Remuneration: Negotiable
Managerial Responsibility: None.
Duration: 11 months with possibility of extension.
Directly Reporting Staff: Nurses, midwives, nutritionists and other health cadres.
For increasing access to Health and Nutrition, Lifeline Gedo works in urban and remote villages in Gedo region through the provision of health and Nutrition services that include treatment of SAM, MAM, essential maternal and child health services in Partnership with Medair and technical support from the MoH of Jubaland state of Somalia.
Job Summary:
Health and nutrition Officer, under the direct supervision of the health and nutrition project coordinator and closely working with Health facility in charge and mobile team supervisors, will be responsible for Project implementation reporting and supervision as per the LLG and donor requirements. The officer is also responsible for the quality and the consistency of all data submitted by the health facilities. He/she will be responsible in collecting, compiling and analysing weekly and monthly health and nutrition data and submitting it to the coordinator, donor partners, MOH and other platforms such as ONA. He/she will Closely follow up and ensure up-to-date activities are implemented with community members that will lead to the prevention of malnutrition and child stunting particularly especially health, IYCF-E and community awareness promotion and protection activities.

Education
ü Bachelor’s degree in medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition or a related subject.
Experience and Skills
Essential:
ü At least three years’ experience of health & nutrition-related humanitarian/development program implementation
ü Experience in training and supervision of health workers
ü Knowledge of the National polices such as EPHS, CMAM and IYCF
ü Experience of working in complex, insecure environment
ü High level of spoken and written English
ü Experience in on-the-job mentorship and training
ü Computer Skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

ü Good interpersonal and communication skills
ü Ability and willingness to interact successfully and respectfully with people at all levels and from all backgrounds.
ü Ability to work under pressure and without constant supervision.
