Job Description

The Role Summary:

The Intern will support the SomReP/SomRIL communication needs such as collecting and posting content on their social Media Platforms. This will contribute to the strengthening of SomReP’s /SomRIL’s digital and social media presence, that will in turn contribute to further increasing its internal and external visibility. The incumbent will support the team’s communication needs by providing digital media contents and traditional media services such as graphic design and print for the various platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of communication strategies and plans for the SomReP and Response Innovation Lab.
  • Creating and editing content for various communication channels such as social media, newsletters, and press releases for the SomReP/Response Innovation Lab.
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of events and campaigns for the Response Innovation Lab
  • Participate in the development of a content calendar outlining upcoming events and key messaging for the Response Innovation Lab.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective communication
  • Taking high quality photos on SomReP/Response Innovation Lab field activities
  • Drafting success stories
  • Shooting raw video footages and light edits for Response Innovation Lab activities
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with field staff to facilitate successful coordination and planning of field visits.
  • Ensure all content complies with World Vision’s safeguarding protocols.

Experiences and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, business administration, social policy, communications, IT, journalism or related fields
  • The role requires a good understanding of knowledge on media and communication including an ability to simplify knowledge products related to new innovation
  • Proficient in written English

Working Environment:

   The position is field-based in Hargeisa, Somaliland with frequent travel to other target project locations
