OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
To ensure that effective WHO country presence is established to implement WHO country cooperation strategies that are aligned with Member State's health and development agendas, and harmonized with the United Nations country teams.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
During deployment, the duty station may change, and duties may be modified, based upon the technical needs of the Programme.
1- Provides input to the Director/Head of WHO Country Office HWCO or responsible Officer.
2- Conducts the implementation of procurement services for the department/office on a wide range of services and commodities.
3- Administers procurement resources and ensures compliant and efficient use of standard operating procedures of procurement.
4- Monitors the overall activities of procurement, logistics, and contracting services for the office through the use of the GSM oracle system and other procurement tools; providing reports, data and statistics.
5- Provides guidance on procurement, logistics, contracting services to managers and staff.
6- Prepares and monitors the implementation of procurement work plan activities ensuring objectives and priorities are met and on track.
7- Ensures smooth running of operations of procurement including goods and services, travel, communications, and information technology needs of the office, and local service vendor requirements.
8- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Essential: First university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, Management, or related field.
Desirable: An advanced university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, Management, or related field.
Essential: A minimum of five years' experience, including international exposure, working in the area of procurement services, and logistics services for a programme. Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning Oracle systems or similar packages.
Desirable: Relevant experience in WHO, the UN System, previous experience in Somalis context would be an asset

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 64,121 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 3115 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
